Technical Operations Technician (IT + Shop Support)

Alare Technologies, LLC is a fast-moving defense engineering firm specializing in unmanned aircraft systems. They are seeking a Technical Operations Technician to support engineering and IT systems, focusing on both shop support and IT troubleshooting.


Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers and build teams with assembly, fabrication, and testing of small unmanned aircraft systems
  • Maintain shop equipment, tools, and workspaces
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
  • Support prototype builds, test setups, and production tasks
  • Manage inventory, consumables, and equipment calibration
  • Help with general facilities upkeep and organization
  • Provide basic troubleshooting for workstations, printers, and networked devices
  • Assist with user account setup, software installs, and updates
  • Support engineering software (CAD tools, version control, etc.)
  • Help maintain IT documentation and asset tracking
  • Coordinate with external IT resources when needed

Skills

  • Hands‑on mechanical or electrical aptitude
  • Experience working in a shop, lab, or technical environment
  • Basic IT troubleshooting skills (Windows systems, networking fundamentals)
  • Basic understanding of servers, switches, or IT infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products, including Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and related productivity tools
  • Ability to lift 25+ lbs and work safely with tools and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Ability to Commute: Moorpark, CA 93021 (Required)
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, or manufacturing
  • Familiarity with small UAS, RC aircraft, or prototyping
  • Comfort with both independent work and supporting engineering teams
