Geotechnical Engineer

They are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to perform and oversee geotechnical field explorations, design foundations, and develop geotechnical reports, while working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee geotechnical field explorations, including test borings, rock coring, test pits, cone penetration testing, hand augers, and other methods
• Perform construction monitoring of earth retaining structures, deep foundations (drilled shafts, piles), and shallow foundations
• Prepare boring logs and subsurface profiles
• Design of shallow and deep foundations and earth-retaining structures
• Perform liquefaction and consolidation settlement analyses
• Perform Finite Element modeling using PLAXIS and or FLAC
• Develop geotechnical reports
• Perform Pavement Design and develop Pavement Reports
• Design Ground Improvement including deep soil mixing, rigid inclusions, chemical
• Develop Contract documents including drawings and specifications
• Work in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams from across North America
• Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable, and meet all assigned project deadlines
• Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines

Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required
• Must be a US Citizen
• Master of Science in Civil Engineering is required
• 1-3 years of experience on geotechnical projects
• Willingness and flexibility to travel for work
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Computer skills including CADD, and Microsoft Office
• A driver's license and reliable vehicle will be required
