Geotechnical Engineer

They are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to perform and oversee geotechnical field explorations, design foundations, and develop geotechnical reports, while working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee geotechnical field explorations, including test borings, rock coring, test pits, cone penetration testing, hand augers, and other methods
- Perform construction monitoring of earth retaining structures, deep foundations (drilled shafts, piles), and shallow foundations
- Prepare boring logs and subsurface profiles
- Design of shallow and deep foundations and earth-retaining structures
- Perform liquefaction and consolidation settlement analyses
- Perform Finite Element modeling using PLAXIS and or FLAC
- Develop geotechnical reports
- Perform Pavement Design and develop Pavement Reports
- Design Ground Improvement including deep soil mixing, rigid inclusions, chemical
- Develop Contract documents including drawings and specifications
- Work in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams from across North America
- Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable, and meet all assigned project deadlines
- Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines
Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required
- Must be a US Citizen
- Master of Science in Civil Engineering is required
- 1-3 years of experience on geotechnical projects
- Willingness and flexibility to travel for work
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills including CADD, and Microsoft Office
- A driver's license and reliable vehicle will be required
