Mechanical Engineer 1

Westinghouse Electric Company is a leader in providing clean energy solutions, and they are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support various engineering tasks related to nuclear plant designs. The role involves working on piping and HVAC layout, hazard evaluations, and providing engineering support for design and construction organizations.

Responsibilities

• Work on teams that support the design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of large-scale nuclear and non-nuclear projects
• Perform physical arrangement of the nuclear island structures, equipment, piping, commodities, and support using 3D design software
• Perform hazards evaluations with 3D plant models and analysis software
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and criteria documents
• Work with the Westinghouse proprietary digital design architecture (WNEXUS) to author, review and verify engineering designs and conduct in-depth reviews of 3D model and plant designs
• Help prepare reports to satisfy applicable regulatory, code, and customer contract requirements
• Provide engineering support to design, fabrication, and construction organizations including responding to requests for information, identify design changes, and address deviations by working with engineers in different departments and global work locations

Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum GPA 3.0
• Pursue Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification and Professional Engineering licensure (PE)
