Cost Estimator

OCMI, Inc. is a rapidly growing construction management consultancy founded in 1982, dedicated to core values of teamwork, curiosity, meaningful service, and integrity. They are seeking a Cost Estimator to join their team in Dallas, where the role involves providing detailed cost estimates for various construction projects and collaborating effectively with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed quantity take-off and preliminary pricing for a variety of construction project types
• Review and interpret construction drawings to understand the overall project scope
• Support development of comprehensive cost estimates/models communicating the client’s project and strategic goals
• Facilitate document control, file management, and project collaboration
• Ensure a quality product is presented to the client by adhering to QA/QC procedures
• Actively research, solicit and develop sources/vendors to compile and maintain the accuracy of cost information
• Communicate effectively through clear and concise means appropriate to the project goals

Skills

• 1 -3 years of cost estimating experience in vertical construction/engineering projects
• Ability to understand and accurately interpret construction documents (drawings, specifications)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Prior institutional or public works project experience
• Proficient user of On-Screen Takeoff (OST) software or similar quantity takeoff software
• A bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or architecture, or 2 years of applicable construction trade experience in lieu of a degree
