[Remote] Business Analyst – Data Operations & Solutions
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Synapse Health is focused on streamlining the durable medical equipment (DME) process through technology-based solutions. The Business Analyst – Data Operations & Solutions will be responsible for powering analytics and reporting, transforming complex operational data into actionable insights, and supporting key initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Analyze operational and business performance trends to deliver clear, actionable insights that inform strategic and day-to-day decisions across the S&I division
- Partner closely with stakeholders across Solutions & Implementation, Operations, Growth, Product, and Data to gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate business needs into scalable BI solutions
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks that monitor data ingestion health, order processing performance, implementation readiness, and operational SLAs
- Support implementation and go-live analytics by validating data integrity, ensuring clean tie-outs across systems, and identifying root causes of data issues that impact launch success
- Write, test, and deploy scripts and macros (JavaScript, Excel/VBA) to support rapid data cleanup, transformation, enrichment, and reconciliation across large datasets
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for improved data quality, consistency, and reporting automation
- Enable and support self-service analytics by building reusable datasets, standardized dashboards, and clear documentation for internal users
- Translate complex datasets into compelling narratives and recommendations tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Develop strong domain expertise in Synapse Health data models, including referrals, fulfillment timelines, implementations, and vendor SLAs
- Proactively document recurring analyses, data definitions, and workflows—contributing to a growing library of trusted data assets and best practices
- Support day-to-day data platform operations, responding quickly to evolving business needs while maintaining accuracy and reliability
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience
- 1–3 years of experience in business analysis, business intelligence, reporting, or a related analytical role
- Proficiency with at least one modern data visualization tool (e.g., Sigma preferred, Tableau, Looker, Omni, or similar)
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with modern data stacks such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar platforms
- Advanced Excel capabilities, including VBA macros and large dataset normalization and reconciliation
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain the 'why' behind dashboards, metrics, and insights
- Comfort operating in fast-paced environments where requirements evolve and iteration is expected
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, data models, and technologies as platforms mature
- Healthcare, DME, or adjacent industry experience is a plus, including familiarity with claims, orders, and payor data structures (HCPCS, NPI, plan types, etc.)
