STgenetics is revolutionizing agriculture and animal genetics through innovative technology. They are seeking an organized and talented individual for the FarmFit Internship to expand their research and data analysis skills, particularly in observing animal behaviors using technology.
Responsibilities
- Observe and log animal behavior in person and via camera footage
- Assist in appropriately outfitting the animal with appropriate technology bolusing and attachment of neck collars
- Retrieve neck collars and upload data into csv spreadsheets
- Labeling observed animal behaviors and label corresponding sensor data (i.e. Walking, eating, laying, ruminating, estrus, and calving)
- Collecting data and running small experiments in lab environment
Skills
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on presentation skills
- Comfortable working with and handling cattle
- Self-directed and able to work without supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
- MSSQL Management studio knowledge is nice
