Job Overview
In this remote position, you will be responsible for handling a high volume of customer service calls in a prompt and courteous manner. Your primary goal will be to resolve patient questions and problems regarding patient accounts, payments, and services in a professional and empathetic way. You will be the first point of contact for many of our patients, and your ability to communicate effectively, listen attentively, and provide personalized support will be essential in creating a positive and comforting experience for them.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure clear and concise interactions with patients
- Utilize Microsoft Office products and Internet navigation to efficiently manage patient information and resolve issues
- Communicate in a clear, concise, and understandable manner, and listen attentively to patients to ensure their concerns are addressed
- Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring that patients feel valued and supported throughout their interaction with arenaflex
- Deescalate and remain positive in all situations with difficult customers, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor
- Take patient demographics and other patient information as needed, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- Review explanation of benefit (EOB) documentation and notate accounts on collection activity to perform account resolution
- Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness, obtaining any missing information and ensuring timely resolution
- Collect patient payments in accordance with payment due dates and establish payment plans within approved guidelines
- Complete and mail necessary patient statements and return mail in a timely manner, ensuring seamless communication
- Create an atmosphere of comfort, peace, and ease for patients, prioritizing their needs and concerns above all else
- Answer all phone calls within 2 minutes of the call hitting the system, ensuring prompt and efficient service
- Answer and end all phone calls within the set dialogue parameters established by leadership, maintaining an average of 65 calls per day
- Attend in-services, seminars, and webinars for additional education and performance improvement, staying up-to-date on industry best practices and arenaflex policies
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance, ensuring that our patients receive consistent and uninterrupted support
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, with a strong foundation in customer service and communication principles
- 1 year of experience in customer service and/or call center industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Customer Service Basics or equivalent training preferred, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience in a healthcare or medical billing environment, with a strong understanding of patient accounts and services
