The team is responsible for large engineering systems that power Reservation Details, Order management, and Alterations among other areas. Furthermore, this team is also responsible for the Experiences product booking flow along with a charter to explore newer product areas, executing on them end to end.</p> <p>We are looking for an engineering leader who can be a champion for the web community in the broader team while driving end-to-end development of key products. Experience with building scalable practices that generally guide web development for a series of products is a quality we are looking for. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated proficiency in collaborating closely with Design partners to rapidly ideate, prototype, develop, and ship innovative product experiences.</p> <p>Learn more about the <a href="https://medium.com/airbnb-engineering/web/home" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Frontend culture at </a>, also meet our Reservation Management leader – <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/thomasnourse/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Tommy Nourse</a>!</p> <h3>The Difference You Will Make: </h3> <ul> <li>Explore, shape, and develop new product experiences alongside cross-functional partners (design and product); from ideation to implementation at scale</li> <li>Design and implement scalable web practices across the Reservation Management team.</li> <li>Be a champion of the team’s web community, mentor other engineers and uplevel the broader team’s culture.</li> <li>Lead investments into new technical capabilities that push the envelope and unlock product innovation</li> <li>Develop prototypes to validate ideas while proactively considering long-term implications on technical design and architecture</li> <li>Translate prototypes to high quality, scalable, and maintainable production code through iterative development</li> <li>Writing unit and integration tests, reviewing other’s code.</li> </ul> <h3>Your Expertise: </h3> <ul> <li>10+ years of industry experience.</li> <li>Strong expertise in the following: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Typescript.</li> <li>Extensive experience with modern Javascript frameworks such as React, Preact, Angular, Next, Vue or Meteor.</li> <li>Passion for delivering products end-to-end: from ideation through planning and scoping to implementation and experimental A/B testing.</li> <li>Deep understanding of frontend architecture and improving build processes (npm, yarn, webpack, parcel)</li> <li>Ability to mentor and grow more junior engineers (set and drive best practices for iOS client development)</li> <li>Personal projects that show an aptitude for technical excellence and product sense</li> <li>Ability to work in areas outside of your usual comfort zone and show motivation for personal growth</li> <li>Interest in innovations within the web community.</li> <li>Nice to have: demonstrated design and UX sensibilities</li> </ul> <h3>Your Location:<strong> Remote- USA</strong></h3> <p>This position is US – Remote Eligible. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
