[Remote] Software Engineer Intern (Multi-Cloud CDN Platform )- 2026 Summer (BS/MS)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. ByteDance is a technology company known for its innovative products like TikTok and CapCut. They are seeking a Software Engineer Intern to participate in the design and development of their Multi-Cloud CDN platform, focusing on optimizing global traffic management and building scalable platform capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design and development of ByteDance's Multi-Cloud CDN platform, including control-plane systems like domain management, content management, scheduling systems and AIOPs
• Help construct an intelligent scheduling system to optimize ByteDance's global traffic management based on business scenarios, resource levels, cost control, service quality, and transmission protocols
• Assist in building unified, scalable, and observable platform capabilities to support performance, cost, stability, and compliance

Skills

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Java, C++) in a Linux development environment
• Strong fundamentals in computer science, including networking, distributed systems, or backend platform design
• Solid understanding of APIs, databases, and cloud-native software development
• Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026
• Prior experience or coursework related to CDN, edge computing, or large-scale infrastructure
• Familiarity with network protocols, message queues, monitoring systems, or traffic scheduling strategies
• Enthusiasm for building backend systems that balance performance, scalability, and maintainability
