Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Customer Service Representative to join our team, working remotely on the 3rd shift from 11pm to 7am. As an overnight Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for performing approvals of consumer loans, making payment arrangements, and providing exceptional customer support. You will serve as an intermediary between potential clients and our financial institution, ensuring that qualified applicants receive loans in a timely manner and that our organization's credibility is protected.
Key Responsibilities
- Make outbound and receive inbound calls to customers, providing exceptional service and support
- Consistently and accurately document all information pertaining to accounts, ensuring that records are up-to-date and accurate
- Use basic business math to solve problems and make informed decisions
- Speak clearly, concisely, and effectively, listening to and understanding information and ideas presented verbally
- Maintain a professional and sensitive manner when speaking to customers, ensuring that all interactions are respectful and courteous
- Follow written and/or verbal instructions, adhering to laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Process card payments accurately, ensuring that all transactions are secure and efficient
- Perform the initial approval of potential borrowers, thoroughly examining their applications through multiple software systems
- Review applicants to evaluate their eligibility for loans, making informed decisions and providing clear explanations
- Follow up with customers to clarify important points, ensuring that all questions and concerns are addressed
- Finalize loan details and keep customers informed of rules and obligations, ensuring that all parties are aware of their responsibilities
- Remain up-to-speed regarding lending and other financial services, staying informed of industry developments and trends
- Create and renew records, maintaining accurate and up-to-date information
- Identify customer needs, exploring all options available to customers and providing personalized support
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent customer service skills, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure. You should be proficient with technology, especially computers, software applications, and phone systems, and have a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is preferred, although equivalent experience and skills may be considered. Previous experience in customer service, loan processing, or a related field is an asset, although not required.
Technical Skills
You should be proficient in the use of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as the Internet and cloud-based storage. Experience with software systems and technology used in loan processing and customer service is an asset.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
This role requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, talking and listening constantly. You will be working remotely, with the exception of an initial 1-week training period, which will be held from 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday. After the training period, you will be working from home on the 3rd shift, from 11pm to 7am.
