E-commerce Google Ads Specialist (Search + Shopping Focus | US-Based)
We’re looking for a senior-level, US-based E-commerce Google Ads Specialist to join our team on an ongoing freelance basis. This role is ideal for someone who understands ecommerce growth at a business level, not just inside the Google Ads interface.
This is not a lead generation role and not a set-it-and-forget-it media buyer position. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and clients to scale ecommerce brands profitably.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Owning and scaling ecommerce-focused Google Ads accounts
Building, managing, and optimizing Search campaigns
Building, managing, and optimizing Shopping and Performance Max campaigns
Experience with YouTube, Demand Gen, Display, or other growth formats is a plus
Acting as the day-to-day strategic lead for assigned clients
Partnering with internal team members on strategy, reporting, and problem-solving
Proactively identifying growth opportunities and efficiency improvements
Monitoring performance daily and making data-driven optimizations
Communicating clearly and consistently via Slack and email
Participating in team standups three times per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
TEAM & COLLABORATION
Although this is a freelance role, you operate within a team.
You will not be handed the keys and left alone
You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive success
We provide support and resources for reporting, analysis, strategic planning, and troubleshooting
Clear communication and accountability are essential
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

US-based
Available and responsive during normal US business hours
Deep ecommerce Google Ads experience (not lead gen)
Advanced Google Merchant Center expertise including feed setup, optimization, and maintenance
Proven experience scaling ecommerce accounts
Advanced Google Ads knowledge including account structure, budget pacing, forecasting, and optimization
Strong experience with search term mining and negative keyword strategies
Experience managing Performance Max and Shopping at scale
Audience segmentation and layering experience
Strong understanding of ecommerce conversion tracking best practices
Strong understanding of ecommerce performance metrics including CAC, nROAS, MER, LTV, and payback periods
Ability to make decisions based on business outcomes, not just platform KPIs
Full-time freelancer (not currently employed full-time)
Minimum 10 to 15 hours per week availability
Willing to join recurring standups three times per week
