Staff Accountant

Resilience is a cybersecurity company focused on integrating cybersecurity, cyber insurance, and cyber risk management. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in establishing accounting processes and infrastructure while managing financial reporting and compliance within a fast-growing startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the creation of the accounting infrastructure/systems and establishing department processes and best practices
• Manage the recording of revenue, cost of revenue and collection of cash
• Assist with treasury and cash management functions including vendor payments, invoicing, collection/tracking of customer balances, and creation of automated solutions
• Prepare and post journal entries, reconciliations and month-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Complete various local and municipal taxes and filings
• Help develop and maintain compliance with internal controls over financial reporting and operations
• Participate in process improvement initiatives, including automation and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–2 years of accounting or finance experience (internships, co-ops, or full-time roles)
• Basic understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the accounting function
