Marketplace Analyst
1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented and highly analytical Marketplace Analyst to help drive performance, visibility, and profitability across their third-party marketplace channels. The role involves analyzing data, monitoring marketplace health, and uncovering opportunities to grow revenue across key platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, Instacart, and DoorDash.
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily marketplace performance metrics, including sales, conversion, traffic, pricing, profitability, and on-time delivery
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar)
- Analyze product, brand, and channel-level trends to identify growth opportunities and operational risks
- Conduct competitive benchmarking across pricing, ratings, reviews, assortment, delivery fees, and placement
- Track operational metrics such as cancellation rates, defect rates, customer satisfaction, and SLA compliance
- Support root-cause analysis for performance issues (listing suppressions, fulfillment disruptions, algorithm changes)
- Assist with dynamic pricing analysis and profitability modeling for perishable and non-perishable categories
- Collaborate with Marketplace Managers, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, Finance, and Digital Marketing teams
- Prepare insights and updates for weekly business reviews and leadership discussions
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Economics, Marketing, or a related field
- 1–3+ years of experience in marketplace, eCommerce, digital merchandising, or retail analytics
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel/Sheets and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
- Ability to work with large datasets; SQL or API experience is a plus
- Familiarity with platforms such as Amazon Seller Central, DoorDash Merchant Portal, Instacart, or Walmart Marketplace preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment
- Ability to translate complex data into clear insights for technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally
- Experience in floral, food, gifting, or perishable product categories
- Understanding of marketplace algorithms, search optimization, and fulfillment performance metrics
- Exposure to A/B testing, promotional analysis, or profitability modeling
