Librarian – Part-time, temp
Librarian - Part-time, temp.SUMMARYThis 5-10 hr./wk. temporary position will primarily provide remote reference desk coverage via email and by phone and/or via Zoom appointments on an as-needed basis.
This position works with the library staff to coordinate assistance to students in using the tools of research, answer reference questions, and provide coverage for reference services in collaboration with the SAU White Library Coordinator of User Services, as well as assist with other library-related items.QUALIFICATIONSOnline/remote library reference service experience preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills, including competence with Microsoft Office, online library databases, and library reference tools. Experience using Zoom or WebEx for remote appointments.
Individual will exhibit a life and service that is in full accord with the Spring Arbor University Concept, Statement of Faith, and Community Covenant.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEMLIS/MIS degree required. Will consider candidate currently in the aforementioned degree program.
Prior experience working in a university library setting and experience with remote/online reference services experience is preferred.Experience working in multicultural academic environments preferred. Individuals from diverse populations are encouraged to apply.
