Tort Claims Evaluator

Responsibilities
• Manage the insurance claim process for the Commonwealth.
• Review the initial claim and obtain detailed evidence.
• Conduct interviews with claimants or their representatives, witnesses, and other relevant parties.
• Request the aid of experts or consultants as necessary.
• Evaluate liability and damages.
• Negotiate settlements and subrogate at-fault parties.
• Evaluate Act 101 and Act 51 Line of Duty Death benefits claims.
• Promote inter-bureau relationships with automotive officers across the Commonwealth.
Requirements
• One year of experience as a Tort Claims Representative or Insurance Claims Evaluator 1; or
• Four years of technical experience in evaluating or processing claims, or interviewing consumers to collect or review financial, insurance, or personal information, and one year of professional experience as a third-party claims adjuster, examiner, or investigator; or
• One year of professional experience as a third-party claims adjuster, examiner, or investigator, and a bachelor's degree; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Possess an active motor vehicle license.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.
