Job Overview

As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for designing highly performing data containers with minimal risk, changed complete ownership cost over system lifetime. Your primary focus will be on leading meetings to grasp business requirements and concept, defining logical organization of data, choosing suitable physical environment and technical structure, modeling physical organization of data, and expanding, optimizing, and tuning data designs, load, and access strategies on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead meetings to grasp business requirements and concept, and define logical organization of data
• Choose suitable physical environment and technical structure based on requirements and company standards
• Model physical organization of data to cover all requirements and performance SLAs
• Expand, optimize, and tune data designs, load, and access strategies on an ongoing basis to ensure reduced cost and increased longevity of a data solution
• Gather and document business requirements for the purpose of data design
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Applications, Infrastructure, and Security architects, to develop comprehensive solutions

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• At least 7 years of combined experience as a data professional in various roles, including data architect, data engineer, data analyst, and data QA expert
• A deep understanding of data engineering life cycle and awareness of different data modeling methodologies
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with at least two ETL tools and scripting languages (such as PERL or Python)
• Hands-on experience with at least two database/capacity engines of various types (e.g., Oracle RDBMs and Cassandra KVP)
• Experience with coding server-side processes and data pipelines
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture and the ability to work with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
