Job Description $4,000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible new part-time and full-time employees joining UW Medicine The Harborview Medical Center Pharmacy Department is looking for an outstanding is looking for an outstanding Pharmacy Technician – Medication Reconciliation to join our Pharmacy team! WORK SCHEDULE Full-Time / 40 hours per week Evening Shift POSITION HIGHLIGHTS Assist the Pharmacist in professional activities and assigned tasks including engaging in producing and recording an accurate patient medication list and other pharmacy related functions All activities are performed under the general supervision of a registered Pharmacist PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Obtain accurate home medication lists from admitted patients primarily through in person patient interviews in the Emergency Room (ER) and inpatient rooms, insurance claims and pharmacy phone calls. Accurately electronically transcribe home medication lists into the electronic health record. Escalate identified patient medication list concerns to pharmacist when needed. Answer inquiries not requiring a pharmacist’s professional judgement. Assist in the training of pharmacy technicians, students, and interns. Participate in monthly outdate and unit inspection program. Perform related duties as assigned. REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant OR equivalent education/experience LEGAL REQUIREMENT State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT UW Medicine is committed to being a drug-free workplace.
