About the Role

As a Patient Advocate Representative at blithequark, you will be at the forefront of our call center operations, providing first-class customer service to our patients and ensuring seamless interactions. Your primary responsibilities will include handling patient inquiries, resolving issues, and providing cross-functional support to various business units. You will be the face of our organization, working closely with patients, physicians, and referral sources to deliver on our promise of superior customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain and process authorizations for reorders, ensuring timely and accurate shipping of patient supplies.
  • Resolve patient issues and concerns via phone, document processing, and medical record validation, providing empathetic and professional support.
  • Ensure patients have all required medical documentation to permit billing of services, maintaining up-to-date records and insurance information.
  • Maximize patient retention through effective communication, cross-selling, and troubleshooting, leveraging your exceptional phone and email etiquette skills.
  • Audit configuration of supplies based on supporting documentation, formulary requirements, and manufacturer capabilities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of medical documentation, insurance requirements, and company procedures, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Ensure confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive patient information, adhering to strict data protection policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular, predictable, and consistent attendance, demonstrating flexibility to meet the needs of the department and our patients.

Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent, with customer service experience being highly preferred. You should be proficient in computer literacy, with strong keyboarding skills and the ability to accurately key data while maintaining active listening skills. Essential skills include:

  • Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional phone and email etiquette, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and referral sources.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts, as required, to meet the needs of our patients and the department.
