Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team at blithequark. As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for determining and reporting of merchant discount income, providing a unique opportunity to influence multiple businesses and segments by aligning the organization's objective for profitable charge volume and merchant growth. This is a part-time data entry job that offers a competitive salary of $25-$35 per hour and the opportunity to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a Canada figure for merchant discount income and track monthly performance against forecast, identifying drivers of change.
  • Develop merchant discount income scorecards for the Canada region.
  • Drive standardization and process improvement among the different regional pricing groups for all reporting and forecasting related activities.
  • Support external audits, including investigating issues found, contacting the regional pricing groups that manage the merchant relationship to discuss issues, and managing resolutions.
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis to assess discount rate trends and uncover insights.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience in financial services or payments industry, and/or other financial roles.
  • A bachelor's degree required; strongly preferred in finance/accounting/business.
  • High proficiency with Excel is required.
  • Solid attention to detail and organization.
  • Solid aptitude for analysis; demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and draw value-added insights from a large amount of financial data.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SAS/SQL) is required.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.
