YouTube + Short-Form Editing Style Revamp
About My Channel
I create videos about online business, making money online, and building digital income streams. The information is real and straightforward, but the editing in this niche tends to look the same—very serious, very stiff, and not much personality. That’s not my style. I’m more relaxed, skeptical, playful, and counterculture compared to most creators in this space. I want my editing style to show that. What I Want the Editing to Feel Like
My videos are mainly talking head, but the energy doesn’t need to be.
I’m looking for an editing style that:
Feels more fun and human
Uses ideas from gaming creators, vlog creators, or lifestyle creators
Has small jokes or playful moments (nothing too loud or childish)
Has clean movement, smart pacing, and creative timing
Feels modern, but not hyper-serious or “corporate”
Breaks the typical “make money online” editing formula
Simple example:
The content is me teaching a concept, but the edit has the life and personality of a creator who doesn’t take themselves too seriously.
Important Style Notes
The niche is full of “guru energy.”
I want the editing to show that I’m different. The style should:
Add subtle humor or irony
Use small pattern breaks (a zoom, a reaction, a caption joke)
Feel confident and relaxed, not needy for attention
Build a few inside jokes or visual callbacks over time
Make the viewer feel like they’re hanging out with a real person, not attending a lecture
This is not an overedited style. It’s intentional simplicity + personality. What You’ll Do (Clear Tasks)
Phase 1 — Style Development
Watch my YouTube videos and a few shorts
Understand my personality and tone
Create a short moodboard or style proposal (examples from gaming, vlog, lifestyle creators, etc.)
Tell me your approach for mixing this style with my talking-head content
Phase 2 — First Project (Paid Test)
You will take:
1 existing long-form video from my channel
3 existing short-form videos
And you will:
Re-edit the long-form video in the new style
Re-edit all 3 short-form videos as well
Add your touches, your pacing, your transitions, your sound design
Make recommendations for how the style could evolve
This first project helps us lock in the identity before any long-term work.
Phase 3 — Style Refinement
After the test edits:
We review together
You adjust anything that feels off
We finalize the “signature look”
Phase 4 — Long-Term Work (If Style Is Successful)
Once we agree on the style, we will:
Cost out revamping existing long-form videos
Cost out revamping selected existing shorts
Set an ongoing monthly rate for future content:
Ongoing short-form edits (around 7 per week)
Occasional long-form videos each month
We will build a predictable system that works for both of us.
What I’m Looking For
You don’t need perfect English. You do need a creative eye and the ability to mix influences. Ideal editor:
Can bring gaming or vlog-style energy into talking-head content
Understands subtle humor
Can keep things clean, modern, and engaging
Doesn’t rely on heavy templates
Thinks about pacing and storytelling
Likes building a long-term style with a creator
