Platform-Agnostic CRM Selection Consultant (Advisory Only)
We are seeking an independent, platform-agnostic consultant to advise on CRM selection, not implementation.
This engagement is strictly focused on evaluating CRM options and delivering a clear, written recommendation. We are not looking for a consultant tied to a specific CRM platform or anyone pitching follow-on implementation work as part of this project.
Scope of Work
Review current workflows across fundraising, partnerships, research operations, communications, and reporting
Define functional requirements and constraints
Evaluate multiple CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, nonprofit-specific CRMs, or hybrid approaches)
Compare options based on:
Total cost of ownership
Reporting and analytics needs
Data governance and security
Scalability without overengineering
Ongoing staffing and admin burden
Deliver a concise written recommendation that includes:
Top 1–2 platform recommendations
Rationale and tradeoffs
High-level implementation considerations
Clear risks and “what not to build yet”
Explicitly out of scope:
Vendor resale, referral, or commission-based relationships
Ongoing CRM administration
Additional Notes
This is a short-term advisory engagement that ends with a recommendation deliverable
Any future implementation work, if pursued, will be scoped separately
Required Experience
Demonstrated experience advising across multiple CRM platforms
Ability to provide unbiased, platform-agnostic recommendations
Experience with nonprofits, research organizations, or complex stakeholder environments
Strong written communication and decision-support documentation skills
