Junior Data Analyst
Description
• Own the evolution of EnGen’s data ecosystem from reactive spreadsheets to proactive, self-service analytics. You will be the bridge between raw data and confident decisions, translating every “Can you pull a quick report?” into an automated, scalable dashboard that teams trust.
• Partner daily with Client Success to understand the metrics that prove ROI for workforce boards, employers, and state agencies. You will design repeatable pipelines that deliver weekly engagement snapshots, certification attainment rates, and placement outcomes—turning one-off requests into evergreen insights.
• Collaborate with Marketing to surface funnel performance, campaign attribution, and learner-acquisition cost. Your visualizations will guide budget reallocation in real time, ensuring every dollar spent on outreach translates into seats filled and skills gained.
• Empower the Learner Support squad with predictive alerts that flag at-risk learners before they churn. By stitching together LMS clickstream data, CRM notes, and assessment scores, you will create “next best action” queues that coaches use to send the right nudge at the right moment.
• Build and maintain ETL workflows that ingest data from HubSpot, our proprietary learning platform, third-party assessments, and billing systems. You will enforce data-quality gates, write unit tests for SQL transformations, and schedule Airflow DAGs so stakeholders wake up to fresh, trustworthy numbers.
• Automate complex billing logic for enterprise clients with custom seat-count, milestone, and success-fee arrangements. Your scripts will reconcile usage against contracts and generate invoice-ready files—eliminating days of manual work each month.
• Curate an internal data dictionary and lineage documentation in Notion and dbt docs so that anyone—from interns to executives—can trace a KPI back to its source table and understand the assumptions baked in.
• Experiment fearlessly with LLMs to accelerate SQL generation, anomaly detection, and narrative summaries for non-technical audiences. You will pilot prompt templates that turn plain-English questions into validated queries, cutting ad-hoc turnaround from hours to minutes.
• Champion a culture of experimentation by running A/B tests on email re-engagement sequences, pricing models, and onboarding flows. You will calculate statistical significance, visualize lift, and present findings that directly influence product and policy decisions.
• Present insights in Tableau, Google Slides, or Loom videos tailored to each audience—whether it’s a state workforce director who needs policy-level trends or a support agent who needs a learner’s last seven days of activity in one glance.
• Contribute to quarterly OKR planning by translating lofty goals like “Increase placement rate by 15%” into measurable data strategies, success criteria, and instrumentation requirements.
• Stay curious about emerging tools—dbt, Snowflake, Census, Hightouch—and advocate for incremental upgrades that keep our stack modern without adding complexity.
Requirements
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and currently reside in the U.S.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and validating data; comfort with window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning
• Foundational Python skills for scripting ETL jobs, automating reports, and interacting with APIs (pandas, requests, sqlalchemy preferred)
• Demonstrated experience (academic, internship, or professional) with Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tool to build interactive dashboards and tell data stories
• Familiarity with CRM workflow automation—HubSpot experience strongly preferred, but Salesforce, Pipedrive, or Marketo acceptable with proven quick learning ability
️ Benefits

• Annual professional-development budget of $1,500 for courses, conferences, or certifications (dbt, Snowflake, Tableau, Python, AI/ML) plus dedicated learning hours each Friday afternoon
