HR Consultant for a Digital Marketing Agency

We’re a digital marketing agency working with multiple clients across content, design, and automation projects. As we continue to grow, we want to establish a clear, repeatable hiring process for bringing on freelancers and specialists — including writers, designers, assistants, and strategists.
We’re looking for an experienced HR Consultant or People Ops Specialist to create a concise, actionable Hiring SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) that outlines how to find, evaluate, and onboard new team members effectively.
Scope of Work
You will not be hiring or sourcing candidates — this role is purely process design.
Your deliverables will help us standardize and scale how we bring in talent for future roles.
We are looking for startup budget friendly tools and setup. DO NOT APPLY if you are knowledgeable only expensive tools and setups for med size to enterprise companies.
Your Responsibilities
Provide hiring and onboarding workflow guidelines based on our company needs
Design a step-by-step Hiring SOP covering:
/How to post job listings effectively
/How to evaluate talent upon cultural fit, soft skills, and hard skills
/How to onboard new freelancers or hires effectively
/Useful tools, frameworks, and assessments for our hiring process
Provide the SOP in an organized, easy-to-follow format *Provide training or hand off session if needed*
Ideal Consultant
3+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, or Recruiting ideally with startups and small companies
Strong understanding of freelance and remote hiring processes
Experience building or using industry proven SOPs or frameworks for startups or agencies
Excellent documentation and process-design skills
Bonus: Background in marketing or creative industries
Engagement Details
Project Type: Fixed-price consulting project
Estimated Duration: 1–2 weeks
Budget: Open to pay more than the fixed rate on the post for qualified consultants
