POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Power BI Developer is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of advanced Power BI solutions within our current cloud-based data environment using Azure SQL. This role requires deep technical expertise in Power BI, DAX, and data modeling to translate complex business needs into scalable, high-performing dashboards and semantic models. The Senior Power BI Developer will partner closely with business stakeholders, BI Analysts, and legacy system data teams to meet critical deadlines for high-priority reporting initiatives. This position emphasizes performance tuning, governance, security, and sustainable BI practices while enabling knowledge transfer to internal team members and strengthening overall Power BI adoption.   LOCATION Remote with strong collaboration across Central and Eastern Time Zones. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards, semantic data models, and datasets using Azure SQL in the current environment.  • Apply advanced DAX calculations and modeling techniques to deliver complex reporting requirements. • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), data governance standards, and visualization best practices. • Troubleshoot and resolve dashboard performance issues, tune queries and datasets for scalability and responsiveness. • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into actionable, high-quality Power BI solutions. • Maintain documentation, version control (Git, Azure DevOps), and structured handoff materials for internal use. • Facilitate knowledge transfer and mentoring sessions with internal team members to build Power BI and DAX capability. • Ensure adherence to governance frameworks for accuracy, integrity, and security of BI deliverables. • Support the timely delivery of executive and operational dashboards aligned to business priorities.  REQUIREMENTS MUST HAVE • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or equivalent professional experience. • 5+ years of professional Power BI development experience in enterprise environments. • Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and relational/dimensional data modeling. • Strong experience working with Azure SQL, including performance-tuned queries and optimized data integration. • Proven ability to deliver enterprise-grade dashboards with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and governance. • Experience implementing and maintaining Row-Level Security (RLS) and BI governance practices. • High attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Demonstrated experience mentoring junior BI developers and contributing to team skill development. • Familiarity with Agile BI development and cross-functional collaboration across distributed teams. • Knowledge of performance tuning for large-scale enterprise BI systems.   NICE TO HAVE • Skilled with scripting languages (Python, R) for data automation and advanced analytics.   EMPLOYEE BENEFITS Wellness & Fitness: Take advantage of our on-site CrossFit-style gym, featuring a full-time personal trainer dedicated to helping you reach your fitness goals.
