Staff Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description:
• Act as the primary liaison with OEM partners for all manufacturing-related activities involving finished products.
• Collaborate closely with suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize manufacturing performance.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional responses to OEM-initiated change notices, ensuring proper evaluation and implementation.
• Drive resolution of complex technical and process issues to maintain product quality and supply reliability.
• Partner with cross-functional teams—including Strategic Partners, Global Supplier Quality, Product Lifecycle Engineering, and Customer Service—to address technical challenges and process improvements.
• Ensure full compliance with Siemens Healthineers’ Quality Management System, including SCAR, NC, CAPA, and Complaint Handling processes.
• Lead productivity and cost-reduction initiatives focused on material, process, and operational efficiency improvements.
• Define and execute supply resiliency and productivity strategies for externally manufactured products.
• Serve as a core member of the MFE productivity team to support continuous improvement programs and deliver measurable savings.
• Support implementation of design changes and manage the design change process in collaboration with engineering and quality teams.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to junior engineers to build technical expertise and drive team effectiveness.
Requirements:
• BS Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical or Biomedical) is required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• FDA/ISO/Med Device experience required
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment while balancing multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PPT) is required.
• Ability to interpret 3D CAD design models and 2D drawings and/or and detailed part specifications is important.
• Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in a medical device field with increasing levels of responsibility
• Ability to work within a team environment to support engineering staff on several small projects with complex features.
• Ability to work independently and effectively apply principles, tools, and knowledge gained from previous work experience.
• Exposure to Lean business systems and methodologies such as TPM, 5S, & OEE Monitoring is desired.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
