Sr. DITA Information Architect (Remote)

About the position The Senior Information Architect at CrowdStrike is responsible for designing and producing DITA XML content models, ensuring that documentation serves as a strategic asset. This role involves implementing scalable content architectures, collaborating with various stakeholders, and enhancing content reuse strategies to optimize user experience and efficiency in documentation delivery. Responsibilities • Implement an architecture that supports a scalable and sustainable content model following DITA specifications. • Collaborate with technical writers, documentation managers, content strategists, taxonomists, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure information architecture meets business needs. • Define workflows for content creation, review, and publishing processes. • Partner with the content publishing team to optimize taxonomy and metadata structures within an online web portal. • Develop and optimize schemas and tools to align the content model with company objectives. • Enhance content reuse strategies to minimize duplication and maximize efficiency. • Occasionally develop user-facing content and contribute to content strategy projects as needed. • Drive content quality and consistency in collaboration with colleagues. Requirements • Significant experience as a DITA Information Architect, focusing on customer-facing product documentation. • Proven DITA XML expertise with a strong understanding of information architecture principles. • Experience managing content for large, complex documentation sets from both a technical writing team and outside contributors. • Significant experience with at least one industry-standard Component Content Management System (CCMS). • Familiarity with the Oxygen XML Editor for authoring and maintaining DITA content. • Familiarity with the DITA Open Toolkit (DITA-OT) for publishing DITA content. • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines. • Experience with XML, XSLT, CSS, and Markdown. • Certification or equivalent experience in DITA, technical writing, or a related field. Nice-to-haves • Cybersecurity industry experience. • Background in documentation transformations and content migrations. • Knowledge of semantic web technologies, such as RDF and OWL. • Experience with Content Delivery Platforms (CDPs). • Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and version control systems. • Familiarity with large learning models (LLMs) and natural language processing (NLP) concepts. • Experience with data analytics and metrics tools. • Experience partnering with a localization team.
