[Remote] Tax Expert - Seasonal (Pro Review Specialist)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. April is looking for credentialed Tax Experts to join their dedicated Pro Review team. In this role, you'll provide real-time tax support and review services to clients, ensuring quality service delivery and collaborating with your team to solve complex filing situations. Responsibilities • Respond to customer tax questions in near real-time through Intercom, providing clear, accurate guidance • Conduct Pro Review consultations both synchronously (via video/phone) and asynchronously • Prepare and file tax returns as needed, ensuring accuracy and compliance • Monitor and maintain quality standards across all client interactions and tax deliverables • Flex to tax prep/review work when bandwidth allows • Collaborate with your team to solve complex filing situations and improve processes • Share feedback with leadership and product teams to enhance the customer experience as we scale Skills • Active EA or CPA credential and a valid PTIN • 3+ years of paid individual tax prep experience, with demonstrated ability to handle simple to moderate complexity returns • Proficient with professional tax software and comfortable navigating multiple systems simultaneously • Experience working virtually with tax clients, including client portals, e-signature platforms, and secure document sharing • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to explain tax concepts clearly and respond efficiently in chat/messaging environments • Comfortable in fast-paced environments with fluctuating priorities and real-time customer demands • Self-starter mindset—adaptable, comfortable with change, and excited to help shape the future of the tax industry • Experience with multi-state, self-employment, rental, and investment income filings Company Overview • April offers embedded tax planning and filing tools that integrate into financial platforms to power smarter, real-time tax decisions.
