RN-Quality & Safety Improvement Consultant V, Patient Safety (KFH/HP)
About the position Responsibilities • Develop and monitor procedures for reporting safety hazards, accidents, incidents, and significant events. • Lead improvement activities for patient care and operational programs to enhance patient outcomes. • Promote learning and collaboration among team members and stakeholders. • Conduct or oversee business-specific projects, ensuring adherence to procedures and policies. • Partner with stakeholders to make effective business decisions and solve complex problems. • Develop work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines, coordinating resources effectively. • Conduct advanced statistical analysis for quality improvement evaluations and present findings to stakeholders. • Support quality improvement and risk management efforts by researching corrective action plans and ensuring compliance with regulations. • Investigate opportunities to develop new performance metrics and ensure alignment with strategic objectives. • Facilitate the development of quality improvement initiatives using advanced technology and methods. • Serve as a subject matter expert for quality improvement processes and regulations, providing consultation and guidance. • Develop stakeholder development and quality performance review processes, presenting reports to department managers. Requirements • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports. • Minimum two (2) years of experience with databases and spreadsheets or continuous quality improvement (CQI) tools. • Minimum four (4) years of experience in a clinical setting, health care administration, or a directly related field. • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field AND minimum six (6) years of experience in quality, performance improvement, or a directly related field OR minimum nine (9) years of experience in quality, performance improvement, or a directly related field. • Knowledge of patient safety, negotiation, business process improvement, risk management, compliance management, applied data analysis, and project management. Nice-to-haves • Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field. • Health care clinical license from the practicing/applicable state (e.g., Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Pharmacist (RPh), Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, Social Worker).
