Microsoft Azure Migration Architect (Contractor)

We are seeking a talented and experienced Microsoft Azure Migration Architect to join our team as a contractor. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end design, planning, and execution of complex on-premises to Azure cloud migrations for our clients. You'll be the key technical leader on these projects, responsible for architecting solutions that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective. Responsibilities • Design and develop comprehensive migration strategies and roadmaps. • Create scalable, secure, and cost-effective Azure architectures that follow industry best practices. • Lead and execute the migration process, including re-hosting, re-platforming, and application modernization. • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure successful project delivery. • Create detailed technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and migration guides. • Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost efficiency, and high availability post-migration. Must-Have: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in IT, with 3+ years in Azure and 2+ years in DevOps. • Experience with a variety of DevOps tools and technologies, including: • * Build automation frameworks (GitHub, Azure DevOps). • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling (Terraform, ARM, Bicep). • Container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker). • Scripting (Powershell, Bash, Python). • Strong understanding of software development principles. • Proficiency with Git and GitHub workflows. • Expertise with cloud monitoring and management systems. • Experience with cloud security principles and best practices. • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent communication and documentation skills. • Ability to learn new skills and technologies quickly. Nice-to-Have: • Cloud and DevOps certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert). • Previous experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, financial, defense). • Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO, NIST, HIPAA, and/or SOC2. • Auditing and policy-writing experience.
