Staff Augmentation Role
Overview
The HR Project Manager will support the Retirement and Employee Services teams by driving planning, coordination, and execution for the remaining eight months of the pension implementation project. This role focuses on building a clear project plan, identifying what is needed to finish strong, and keeping all stakeholders aligned and on track.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, refine, and maintain a full project plan covering tasks, timelines, dependencies, and resource needs
• Work with the Employee Services team and Retirement staff to identify gaps and ensure all deliverables are fully flushed out
• Coordinate cross-functional activities between HR, Retirement, Employee Services, IT, vendors, and subject matter experts
• Monitor progress, provide regular updates, and guide the team to follow the plan through completion
• Facilitate meetings, track action items, and escalate risks or delays early
• Support testing cycles, data validation efforts, and readiness activities
• Help prepare documentation required for governance reviews and leadership reporting
Required Skills and Experience
• Strong background in HR or Retirement projects
• Experience with pension administration systems or payroll system implementations
• Hands-on PeopleSoft experience, especially in HR, Benefits, or Retirement modules
• Ability to build detailed project plans from scratch
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Ability to guide teams, keep them aligned, and drive work to completion
Preferred Skills
• Experience with PensionGold or similar pension administration platforms
• Familiarity with public sector plans or CalPERS-style processes
• Prior experience supporting large-scale HRIS or benefits implementations
