How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing

As a Ramp Agent at blithequark, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers' baggage and cargo arrive safely and on time. This is an entry-level position, and our leaders are committed to providing mentorship and support to help you advance your career. Your daily tasks will include safely lifting, loading, unloading, and transporting baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, as well as guiding incoming and departing aircraft from gate positions. You will also be responsible for safeguarding cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather, and operating ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft
  • Safeguard cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather
  • Operate ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion
  • Guide incoming and departing aircraft from gate positions
  • Operate baggage scanners and computers to ensure baggage is routed accurately to the customer's destination
  • Work effectively in a team environment to achieve operational goals and objectives

Scheduling and Work Environment

Scheduling is based on operational needs, and shifts range from early morning to overnight. You will work between 20 and 40 hours per week, depending on your seniority. Our airport customer service team works in a fast-paced environment, and you must be able to adapt to changing situations and priorities. You will be required to work in harsh weather conditions, including heat, rain, and snow, and must be able to lift and move heavy objects, including baggage and cargo.

Compensation and Benefits

At blithequark, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package to our employees. The starting pay for this position is $19.00 per hour, with regular pay increases over a period of 10.5 years. Our benefits package includes:

What You Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
  • Be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Be proficient in English
  • Pass a physical ability test (PAT)
  • Be able to wear required company-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Be able to hold airport-specific requirements, such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal
