As a temporary Customer Service Associate, you'll be an integral part of our team, working alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about delivering outstanding service. **Key Responsibilities** As a Customer Service Associate at blithequark, you'll be responsible for: * Engaging customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services * Resolving customer issues and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience * Modeling and sharing customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience * Providing customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service * Recommending items for sale to customers and recommending trade-up and/or companion items * Registering customer purchases on assigned cash register, collecting cash and distributing change as requested * Processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed * Keeping counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, taking inventory, and maintaining records * Implementing Company asset protection procedures to identify and minimize profit loss * Ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products * Constructing and maintaining displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise * Assisting with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies/procedures * Providing customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print and creative machine, suggestive sell of promotional photo products * Assisting with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance * Complying with all company policies and procedures; maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers **Essential Qualifications** To be successful in this role, you'll need: * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities * Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills * Ability to work effectively in a team environment * Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a cash register * Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time * High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or experience in customer service preferred **Preferred Qualifications** While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset: * Previous experience in customer service or retail environment * Basic knowledge of store systems and store equipment * Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends * Bilingual or multilingual skills **Skills and Competencies** To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess: * Strong customer service skills, including active listening, empathy, and problem-solving * Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and communication * Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a cash register * Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time * Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities * Basic knowledge of store systems and store equipment * Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems and processes **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** At blithequark, we're committed to helping our team members grow and develop their skills and careers.
