Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customer Technical Service Representative to join our team. As the main technical contact for blithequark customers, you will provide process assistance, material support, and technical problem resolution to ensure the efficient runability of our products in customer facilities. Your expertise will be crucial in solving customer product and machine issues, while building strong relationships with our customer facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between blithequark customers and our manufacturing plants, providing technical support and assistance as needed
  • Interface with customers and their employees to provide process assistance for products, including machine parameters and material support
  • Respond to customer requests for problem resolution, troubleshooting, and analyzing materials to identify issues
  • Work closely with our sales team to respond to customer issues, manage relationships, and recommend alternative product options when authorized
  • Troubleshoot potential problems with customers and their employees, documenting issues and resolutions for future reference
  • Request lab testing on samples to further identify material issues and test samples on blithequark equipment to identify additional opportunities
  • Assist in determining product specifications for customer needs and provide installation, setup, and training on blithequark packaging equipment
  • Perform general preventative maintenance, audit, troubleshoot, and repair blithequark packaging equipment as needed
  • Travel up to 70% as required to support customer needs and provide on-site technical support
  • Other duties as assigned to support the growth and success of blithequark

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in packaging, engineering, or a related field, or comparable work experience in flexible packaging production or maintenance
  • 5-10 years of experience in flexible packaging production/maintenance or packaging machine production/maintenance, with a strong preference for experience in the flexible packaging industry and/or meat/cheese/pet food packaging
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing organization is preferred, as well as knowledge of the printing and converting industry and equipment
  • Strong knowledge of the flexible packaging process from film production through packaging and shipping processes of finished products
  • Computer skills, including report writing and Microsoft Office, as well as troubleshooting skills for packaging machines and flexible film interaction and mechanical issues
  • A strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to analyze and resolve machine breakdowns and upset conditions

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working with customers in a technical support role, with a strong focus on building relationships and providing excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software and systems, such as packaging design and manufacturing software
  • Certifications or training in areas such as packaging engineering, quality control, or customer service
  • Experience working in a remote or field-based role, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively
