About the Role

As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be the face of our company, interacting with customers daily and providing them with an exceptional shopping experience. You will be responsible for greeting customers, operating the register, making purchase suggestions, and working with our food program. Your role will be diverse, and you will have the opportunity to work in various areas of the store, both inside and out, to maintain our high standards for store appearance and provide fast and friendly service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and provide them with an exceptional shopping experience
  • Operate the register, process transactions, and handle customer payments
  • Make purchase suggestions and recommendations to customers
  • Work with our food program to provide customers with a variety of options
  • Maintain the store's appearance, including the sales floor, stockroom, and exterior
  • Provide regular and predictable onsite attendance
  • Interact with customers daily, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise
  • Work collaboratively with the team to accomplish daily tasks and goals

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ability to provide excellent customer care and respond to customer inquiries
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and team members
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Basic math skills, with the ability to handle cash and operate a register
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a strong desire to learn and grow

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Retail and customer service experience, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service
  • Sales associate or cashiering experience, with a strong understanding of sales principles and practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong focus on collaboration and mutual support
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and respond to customer inquiries
  • Motivation to advance in your career, with a strong desire to learn and grow

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include:

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours, with regular breaks to rest and recharge
  • Lifting and/or carrying up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead, up to 30 minutes in a shift
  • Occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level
  • Pushing and/or pulling with arms up to a force of 20 pounds
  • Bending at the waist with some twisting, up to one hour a shift
  • Grasping, reaching, and manipulating objects with hands, requiring eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills
