Position Purpose: The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for remotely providing daily operational leadership to a team of remote CDL A Delivery Drivers who deliver to convenience stores throughout southern and western Tennessee and northern Alabama. This role ensures driver performance, safety, and compliance with DOT regulations and company standards. The Supervisor serves as the key link between remote drivers and management, providing training, coaching, and real-time support while also performing delivery functions as needed. This is a regional position with a Monday through Friday, home-every-night schedule. This position is ideal for an experienced CDL A Driver who demonstrates strong leadership, clear communication, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. Because this position supports a remote driver team concentrated in southern and western Tennessee, the Supervisor must reside in or around the Lawrenceburg, TN area to ensure effective in-person support and periodic ride-alongs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Provide remote supervision and daily leadership to assigned CDL A Delivery Drivers, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and according to established schedules and customer expectations. • Conduct ride-alongs, safety observations, and compliance checks; provide immediate coaching and feedback and document all interactions. Escalate performance or safety concerns to the Transportation Manager and HR as appropriate. • Support onboarding, mentoring, and training for new drivers, ensuring full understanding of Team Modern’s delivery standards, customer service expectations, and safety policies. • Monitor driver performance using Samsara and other technology tools, coaching drivers on safety events. • Reinforce safety best practices daily, including trip inspections, hazard reporting, and adherence to DOT regulations. • Respond to route or delivery challenges (traffic, weather, customer changes) in collaboration with the Transportation Manager. • Approve and manage driver timecards and time-off requests, ensuring accurate payroll processing and scheduling coverage. • Serve as the first point of escalation for customer or sales team delivery concerns, ensuring timely communication and follow-up with management. • Schedule regular check-ins / in-person meetups with assigned drivers to foster engagement, accountability, and connection to the broader Team Modern culture. • Adhere to all company safety policies and guidelines. • Adhere to and promote Team Modern’s values of Optimistic Energy, Fairness, Teamwork, Customer Focus and Gratitude. Ideal Candidate Profile: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to excel at the essential functions assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required. Qualifications: • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A). • Minimum of 3 years CDL A driving and delivery experience; leadership or mentoring experience strongly preferred. • Demonstrated record of safe driving and DOT compliance. • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. • Ability to coach, mentor, and train peers while maintaining a strong customer focus. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). • Must pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, and physical. • Ability to lift 75 lbs repetitively and work in a physically demanding environment. • Must be located with 75 miles of Lawrenceburg, TN Benefits • Health, dental, and vision insurance • Company-paid life insurance and short-term disability • Employer-matched 401(k) – up to 4%, fully vested from day 1 • Paid vacation, personal, and sick time • Educational assistance programs and professional development opportunities Schedule: Monday – Friday; home every night.
