**Job Summary**
As a Customer Service Representative in our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy, you will be responsible for providing telephone support to patients receiving life-sustaining specialty drug therapy. You will be the primary point of contact for patients, handling new patient medication orders and reorders, verifying and revivifying benefits, and communicating with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to ensure the processing of specialty medications in a timely manner.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Provide exceptional customer service to patients over the phone, responding to their inquiries and resolving complex issues in a timely and compassionate manner
* Coordinate and process new patient medication orders and reorders, including verifying and revivifying benefits
* Translate and enter new or refill prescriptions into the pharmacy information system
* Communicate and collect copay amounts from patients
* Obtain authorizations from insurance companies and healthcare providers
* Work with internal teams to screen, identify, resolve, and defer orders with accounts receivable or clinical issues
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of medical terminology, benefits, insurance, and prescriptions
* Utilize Windows-based applications, such as Windows, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications, to perform job duties
**Essential Qualifications**
* One year of experience in a customer service role handling and resolving a high volume of complex customer needs over the phone
* One year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Windows, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications
* One year of computer keyboarding experience, skills, and aptitude
* Verifiable high school diploma or equivalent
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Previous experience in the healthcare industry, particularly in benefits, insurance, prescriptions, and medical terminology
* Familiarity with pharmacy information systems and software
**Training and Development**
* 4-week training program, with a PTO blackout period
* Training schedules: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM PST
* Post-training schedule: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM PST
