Product Strategist

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for defining the long-term strategic product vision and market positioning that unlocks growth potential in the whole car remarketing industry. This individual will create strategic roadmaps and collaborate across teams to translate market insights, user needs, and business objectives into a clear direction for product development—ensuring that product initiatives solve meaningful problems and drive success.

KEY OBJECTIVES
  • Analyze trends in used vehicle sales, auto remarketing, digital remarketing, and auction platforms

  • Benchmark competitors and identify strategic white space opportunities

  • Define and evolve product strategy for whole car remarketing channels including fleet disposals, lease returns, dealer trades, and consumer sales

  • Build a long-term product roadmap aligned with marketplace goals, customer needs, and operational capabilities

  • Translate complex business requirements into actionable strategic product plans

  • Conduct buyer and seller research, interviews, and discovery to uncover pain points and unmet needs

  • Attend conferences, trade shows, and explore emerging technologies influencing remarketing

  • Establish, track, and monitor product KPIs and success metrics

  • Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Design, Sales, and Operations to deliver strategic initiatives

  • Provide strategic guidance to influence prioritization and resourcing across multiple teams

  • Contribute to broader RB Global Product Management initiatives that drive profitable business growth

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Build and maintain a strategic roadmap that delivers value and unlocks marketplace opportunities

  2. Define product success metrics and recommend enhancements based on insights

  3. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand pain points and opportunities

  4. Identify emerging trends, risks, and competitive threats within automotive remarketing

  5. Articulate the vision, rationale, and direction (“the why” and “where next”) for whole car remarketing initiatives

  6. Solve fundamental industry problems through customer-centric product strategy

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • 5–10+ years in Product Strategy or Product Development

  • Deep understanding of vehicle lifecycle, wholesale automotive markets, and remarketing channels

  • Familiarity with auction platforms, dealer networks, condition reports, and arbitration processes

Skills:

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving ability

  • Ability to translate market insights into actionable product direction

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across diverse audiences

WORKING CONDITIONS
