BI Tester

8 Month Contract w/ Potential Extension $40/hr-$45/hr Remote Desired Skills and Experience • 5+ years of experience performing QA on BI reports • Experience testing the functionality of MicroStrategy or other BI dashboards and querying complex data • Strong experience with SQL to write and understand queries for data extraction and validation within Teradata and Bigquery • Experience with BI tools, familiarity with BI reporting and visualization • Experience with GCP and Bigquery • Knowledge of various testing methodologies (e.g. Manual Testing, Regression Testing, Functional Testing, End-to-End Testing) • Capability to identify root cause of the defects and work with TPO and Engineers to address the defects Day to Day A healthcare insurance company is looking for a Business Intelligence Quality Assurance Tester to join their team remotely to ensure the accuracy and reliability of their BI report builds for MicroStrategy, Tableau, and ThoughtSpot. The role involves leveraging build documentation to perform comprehensive QA testing for a complex migration project, which transitions a large Excel-based report sourced from Teradata to a MicroStrategy-enabled UI portal powered by Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Teradata, BigQuery, and MicroStrategy, as well as strong SQL proficiency for data extraction and validation. Responsibilities include executing manual, regression, functional, and end-to-end testing, validating data quality, and identifying root causes of defects while collaborating closely with technical Product Owners, BI Engineers, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are essential for creating test plans, documenting findings, and ensuring seamless collaboration across teams.
