Job Overview

As a Customer Service Associate at blithequark, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every customer has a positive and memorable shopping experience. Your duties will include assisting customers with questions and recommendations, managing sales transactions, maintaining the security of cash and protecting company assets, keeping the store well-stocked, and receiving merchandise. You will be responsible for creating a positive, safe, and respectful environment for our customers, associates, and leaders, while maintaining professional and friendly interactions at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with questions and recommendations to ensure a personalized shopping experience
  • Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register, maintaining accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain the security of cash and protect company assets, adhering to blithequark's policies and procedures
  • Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise to ensure a seamless shopping experience for our customers
  • Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards
  • Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment highly preferred. You must be able to follow instructions and interpret operational documents, with excellent customer service and relationship management skills. Strong organizational and communication skills are also required, along with the ability to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced retail environment, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and outside the box
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, associates, and leaders
  • Ability to work in a team environment, with a willingness to support and assist colleagues as needed
  • Basic math skills, with the ability to accurately handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system
