Research & Development: Software System Safety, Virtualization, and Validation Summer Intern
Develop tools leveraging LLMs to automate tasks in System Safety, Manufacturing, and Software Development Lifecycle at GM.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
• Develop tools leveraging large language models (LLMs) to automate manual tasks using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), fine tuning, and prompt engineering
• Focus on domains including System Safety, Manufacturing, and Software Development Lifecycle
• Work in a hybrid role requiring in-office presence at least three times per week
About You
The company is looking for:
• U.S. citizenship to comply with federal government contract restrictions
• Current PhD student or Second-year Master’s student in Engineering or Science
• Research experience in at least one of the following: Software Engineering, System Design, AI/ML, Control Theory
• Strong theoretical knowledge and software programming skills
• Preferred qualifications include experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
• Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices
• Familiarity with data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization techniques
• Demonstrated leadership in field of study, extracurricular activities, or service organizations
