QuickBooks Online Bookkeeper – Manufacturing & Construction (CA Payroll + Sales Tax)
About Us
We’re a California-based manufacturing and installation company specializing in commercial refrigeration systems. We need an experienced QuickBooks Online (QBO) bookkeeper or accountant who understands California CDTFA sales tax, payroll allocation, and multi-division accounting (manufacturing + construction + parts).
If you’re detail-driven, accurate with classifications, and know how fabrication vs. installation should be treated under CA tax law — we’d like to work with you long-term.
What You’ll Do
Phase 1 – Setup & Cleanup (Oct 2025)
Review and optimize Chart of Accounts for manufacturing, installation, and parts sales.
Reconcile QBO data and deliver accurate Balance Sheet & P&L.
Audit CDTFA sales-tax treatment and prepare correct returns.
Deliver clean, GAAP-based financials ready for CPA review.
Phase 2 – Monthly Maintenance & Reporting
Maintain accurate monthly books in QuickBooks Online.
Classify payroll expenses correctly:
Direct labor + burden (benefits, taxes, workers’ comp) → COGS
Admin/officer wages → OPEX
Reconcile payroll journals (BBSI, Paychex, etc.).
File and pay California CDTFA sales tax monthly or quarterly.
Provide monthly Payroll Allocation Summary and management reports.
Phase 3 – Year-End Support
Prepare year-end financials and CDTFA reconciliations.
Provide CPA-ready reports and supporting documentation.
