Job Overview

The Customer Systems group at blithequark is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our team. As a Java Software Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across blithequark to design, develop, and implement new solutions. You will work closely with our business leaders and various stakeholders to deliver high-quality products that meet the needs of our customers. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, prioritize requirements, and develop solutions for complex systems and content, with the ability to work under pressure occasionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain large-scale enterprise-level Java applications, including architecture, design, development, and support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, and develop solutions that meet business needs
  • Utilize expertise in Java, Spring, multi-threading, REST, Data Storage Systems, DB design, and data access technologies to develop scalable and efficient systems
  • Apply knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning to build and optimize large-scale data infrastructure
  • Design and architect distributed systems, synchronous programming, and coding data structures
  • Develop and implement large-scale, low-latency web applications, and design natural systems for Web applications and API platforms
  • Architect and describe Application layers in SOA/Microservices architecture, and build, deploy, and maintain highly scalable REST-based stateless APIs/web services for web applications/mobile clients
  • Ensure security principles and build reliable and secure distributed applications
  • Lead and mentor other engineers, and apply knowledge of application performance improvement techniques and storage solutions
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and support unique, concurrent projects simultaneously

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • At least 2 years of experience with designing and developing versatile enterprise-level back-end solutions
  • Proven experience with Java, Spring, multi-threading, REST, Data Storage Systems, DB design, and data access technologies
  • Experience with building and optimizing large-scale data infrastructure, and designing distributed systems, synchronous programming, and coding data structures
  • Excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and prioritize multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a large enterprise, with a global environment, across different time zones and geographies
  • Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure, and experience with containerization using Docker
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, and experience with version control systems, such as Git
  • Strong understanding of security principles, and experience with implementing secure coding practices
