As an Experienced Ocean Product Development Specialist at blithequark, you'll play a critical role in driving the growth of our ocean volumes and enhancing the development of our ocean product. Working closely with our MD of Ocean, you'll be responsible for supporting carrier development, pricing, analyzing carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and resolving carrier service issues. You'll also serve as an ocean subject matter expert, supporting sales and operations teams to drive business growth and excellence. **Key Responsibilities:** * Develop and implement strategies to increase ocean volumes, maximize competitiveness, enhance service, and support adherence to our preferred network * Assist in implementing pricing programs, reviewing volume targets, and working with our TLM to develop an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales to achieve account development and yield enhancement expectations * Communicate both internally and externally to outline strategy, market conditions, and work closely with our MD, Ocean, global trade lane team, sales, and operations to communicate direction and deliverables * Direct and indirect customer contact will also be required, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and support * Work closely with product, sales, and operations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures to minimize company risk exposure and enhance service quality and achieve volume targets * Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded * Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity; submit reports as required * Work with our MD, Ocean, and regional ocean management team to promote the ocean product and support sales and operations as needed * Manage annual budget, control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets * Collaborate with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product **Essential Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent (8) years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, analyzing ocean rates, and routing * Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus * Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of driving business growth and excellence * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions * Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines * Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives **Skills and Competencies:** * Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions * Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve business objectives * Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines * Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits:** At blithequark, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
