Accounting Specialist (Remote)

GCS is an equal opportunity employer. We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team! You will report to our Finance Manager and will be primarily responsible for the management and processing of payment transactions for our organization. Your duties will also include accounting duties such as record keeping and assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reporting. This role will have more of a focus on Accounts Payable, but will also be responsible for working with Accounts Receivable, so experience with both is a must. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, good relationship skills, and a desire to learn new software, tools, and programs are critical characteristics. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned. • Manage accounts payable ensuring bills are paid on a timely and accurate manner • Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as reconciling and recording entries • Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors • Review and create new processes to improve financial efficiency • Report analysis and findings to management team • Comfort with the Accounts Receivable function with a proven track record of working in that capacity Qualifications and Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP • Experience with other computer accounting programs and reporting tools • Self motivated and process driven • Detail and deadline-oriented • Strong analytical and problem solving skills • Strong relationship skills Education/ Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or other business-related field 2-4 years of prior accounting experience, including AP and AR QuickBooks Online (required) Certified Proadvisor certificate (preferred but not required) Working Conditions • Remote work • Full-time position with occasional travel for industry events or team meetings if needed.
