Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc; attach/detach implements; clean work areas; construct facilities; direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting; feel plants/crops leaves and note coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease; guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines; identify plants, crops, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers; inform farm managers of plants or crops progress; maintain grounds and landscaping; maintain inventory; mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery; operate self propelled machinery; participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops; record information about crops; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment; tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops; use hand tools such as such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: air seeders, augers, bins, silos, loading and unloading facilities, bailers and other hay equipment, combines or other harvesting equipment, GPS guidance systems, grain carts, irrigation equipment, manure spreading equipment, self-propelled machinery, skid steers, sprayers, straight frame trucks, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, tillage equipment, tractor/trailer combinations. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: hay, silage. Must speak and understand English.
