Logistics Coordinator-Recycling (Remote)
About the position
Responsibilities
• Communicate with customers to monitor inventories and anticipate production needs.
• Arrange and negotiate third-party freight costs for timely servicing of waste by-product pick-ups.
• Monitor and maintain shipment status via computer system.
• Respond to customer complaints and investigate shipment issues.
• Initiate calls to customers for deliveries and advise on shipment delays.
• Review pricing with Sales and Marketing groups.
• Develop relationships with vendors, customers, and freight carriers.
• Handle documentation for shipments, including export documentation.
• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and record vendor payments.
• Resolve downgrades and rejects of waste material with customers and vendors.
• Coordinate services with other supervisors/managers and keep them informed of issues.
• Provide feedback to supervisors regarding service failures and customer complaints.
• Meet or exceed service and operational goals for the call center.
• Collaborate with sales representatives to enhance customer service expectations.
• Perform special projects and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
• Two years of relevant work experience in a customer service role.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly basic Excel.
• Work experience that required the use of a computer.
Nice-to-haves
• Previous logistical background in transportation or import/export industry.
• Experience with order tracking and setup.
• Data entry background.
• Heavy Excel knowledge.
• Previous experience working with customer/vendor relationships.
