**Experienced Teaching Artist - Yonkers: Empowering Youth through Arts Education**

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Artist to join our team and help us deliver high-quality arts education programs to students in some of the most challenging NYC public schools. **About Us** The Leadership Program is a dynamic and mission-driven organization that is committed to empowering young people to reach their full potential through arts education. Our unique student-centered approach focuses on building confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills, while promoting social-emotional learning and character development. As a Teaching Artist, you will play a vital role in bringing our programs to life and inspiring students to become creative thinkers, problem solvers, and leaders. **Key Responsibilities** As a Teaching Artist, you will be responsible for: * Implementing our arts education programs in multiple NYC public schools, working independently to deliver high-quality instruction and mentorship to students * Recruiting and retaining students, as well as learning and utilizing our methodology to ensure program success * Planning and implementing after-school programming, including special projects and activities with students and community members * Attending staff meetings and training, as well as participating in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge * Submitting appropriate paperwork and entering activity logs, attendance, and other data into our online database bi-weekly * Collaborating with team members to ensure seamless program delivery and student support **Skills and Knowledge** We are seeking candidates with backgrounds in martial arts, athletics, multimedia, chess, and dance, as these skill sets are a major plus. Additionally, we are in need of multilingual candidates who speak Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Creole, or Bengali. The ideal candidate will possess: * A Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field, such as education, arts, or a related field * A minimum of two years of experience working in city public schools or equivalent * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well and collaborate with team members * Strong classroom management skills, with experience in Social Emotional Learning framework a plus * Technological capacity to provide virtual facilitation, as well as knowledge of virtual platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, etc. * Experience in Anti-Racist Education and Restorative Justice is a major plus * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of students and programs **Compensation and Benefits** As a part-time Teaching Artist, you will receive a competitive salary of $130 per 3-hour in-person placement/residency, with bi-weekly paychecks.
