Job Title: School Occupational Therapist Location: Remote (Must be licensed in Michigan) Job Type: Part-Time 1099 Contract Position Summary: The School Occupational Therapist provides therapy services to support students’ ability to access and participate in the academic environment. This includes assessment, intervention, and collaboration with educators and families to promote motor development, sensory regulation, and functional skills for academic success. This role serves students across various school settings in compliance with IEP goals and federal/state regulations. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations as part of the special education eligibility process • Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and therapy plans based on student needs • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in school-based settings • Collaborate with teachers, parents, special education staff, and other related service providers • Assist in designing classroom modifications and supports to enhance student participation and independence • Document services provided and maintain records in compliance with state, district, and federal guidelines (IDEA, FERPA) • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions • Provide training and resources to staff and families on strategies to support students’ fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills Qualifications: • Education: Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program • Licensure & Certification: • Current Occupational Therapist license through the State of Michigan (LARA) • NBCOT certification • Michigan Department of Education approval as an OT provider preferred (or willing to obtain) • Experience: • Prior experience working with children or in school settings preferred • New graduates with strong pediatric or school-based fieldwork will be considered • Skills: • Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills • Knowledge of sensory processing, motor development, and assistive technology • Ability to adapt therapy strategies for diverse learners in inclusive settings Work Environment & Schedule: • Caseload includes students in grades PreK–12 • Schedule follows the academic calendar and school hours Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
