The ideal candidate will have a strong background in conducting investigations into allegations of discrimination and harassment, as well as experience working with diverse populations and building positive relationships with a wide range of constituencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting timely, thorough, and impartial investigations into alleged discrimination, harassment, and other misconduct based on sex, gender, and sexual orientation, including allegations of sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, sexual exploitation, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, retaliation, and prohibited consensual relationships. **Key Responsibilities** * Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into allegations of discrimination and harassment, including allegations of sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, sexual exploitation, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, retaliation, and prohibited consensual relationships. * Develop a comprehensive investigation plan for each case, including conducting interviews with parties and witnesses, gathering evidence, and ensuring a well-documented investigative process. * Prepare detailed, accurate written reports, including findings on policy violations when applicable, and summarize the investigatory process at live hearings when applicable. * Remain well-informed on Title IX and related laws, campus and CSU systemwide policies, and best practices for conducting trauma-informed and compliant investigations. * Facilitate the Informal Resolution process, conduct trainings for students and employees, and support the department's outreach efforts to the campus community. * Develop and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of constituencies, including staff, students, faculty, administrators, and third parties. **Essential Qualifications** * Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. * A minimum of two years of full-time professional experience in Title IX, civil rights investigations, or related work for an educational institution. * Experience working with Maxient or other similar database for case management. * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to both be impartial and project impartiality as well as establish rapport with a diverse range of community members. * Demonstrated ability to exercise superior judgment with the ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential communications. * Demonstrated commitment to serving a diverse population with cultural competence and sensitivity, as well as the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies including staff, students, faculty, administrators, and third parties with diplomacy and tact. **Preferred Qualifications** * Master's from an accredited college or university. * Three years of experience as a civil rights and/or Title IX investigator. * Completed training and/or current certification in conducting investigations for allegations of discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation. * Experience working with in a higher education environment. * Experience with and/or knowledge of California and/or CSU civil rights investigation procedures. **Skills and Competencies** * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of constituencies. * Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. * Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to work with diverse populations and build positive relationships with a wide range of constituencies. **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** * Opportunities for professional growth and development, including training and certification programs in Title IX and civil rights investigations. * Collaborative and supportive work environment, with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. * Access to a wide range of campus facilities and services, including the Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana, Fullerton Arboretum, cultural events and performances in the Clayes Performing Arts Center, Cal State Fullerton Athletics sports events, Titan Recreation Center, and the Employee Wellness Program. **Work Environment and Company Culture** * Fullerton, CA, with a diverse and vibrant community of students, faculty, staff, and administrators who uphold values of inclusive excellence, free speech, and an environment free from discrimination. * Collaborative and supportive work environment, with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. * Opportunities for professional growth and development, including training and certification programs in Title IX and civil rights investigations. **Compensation, Perks, and Benefits** * Competitive salary range of $3,750 -
