About the Job and Group

The Endorser Lifecycle Investigation group at blithequark is dedicated to analyzing and understanding subscriber behavior across our streaming services. As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in helping us estimate, comprehend, and take action to moderate subscriber churn. Your expertise in data analysis, reporting, and visualization will enable us to drive business direction and make informed decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Business Operations, Business Strategy, and other Analysis groups, to develop insightful and compelling analyses that have a significant impact on our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate complex business questions into SQL, including precise cohorting, calculations, filtering criteria, and aggregations
  • Communicate complex trends and churn drivers to a wide range of stakeholders with varying technical expertise, both in oral presentations and written reports
  • Collaborate with other Analysis groups to analyze retention performance of key business initiatives across content, engagement, and marketing areas
  • Build and maintain operational dashboards in Tableau and Looker to track performance over time, enable effective exploratory analysis, and provide partners with self-serve tools
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders (Product, Business Operations, Finance, Marketing, etc.) to identify and unlock opportunities for improved subscriber retention

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Marketing, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of Data Analysis experience
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to apply business acumen to data analysis and recommendations
  • Ability to think strategically, analyze and interpret first and third-party data
  • Experience working with large datasets and interpreting data patterns using a variety of data sources and tools
  • Experience with data analysis and data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills to handle issues, analyze the root cause, quickly devise potential solutions, detail the changes, and communicate business impact
  • Evident experience in specifying data requirements, data architecture, data rules (normalization, cleansing, and validation)

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable:

  • Experience in the streaming media industry or supporting a direct-to-consumer or subscription-based product
  • Experience presenting and contributing to data stories that are communicated to key stakeholders

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including:

  • A salary range of $98,000 to $131,300 per year, depending on location and experience
  • A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package
